Description

Tynedale Hospice at Home

Here’s your opportunity to join our team of dedicated, caring and motivated staff who work together to achieve the aims of the charity.

Tynedale Hospice at Home is a well-established charity of over 30 years. We’re here to provide high quality care and support to the approximately 70,000 residents of West Northumberland, Tynedale, and Ponteland.

We’re dedicated to providing compassionate palliative care and support to those living in our catchment area which covers an 800 square mile radius, much of which is rural.  We provide nursing care, bereavement support to all ages, complementary therapies and patient transport. Our services are available from the moment of need, which could be at the point of diagnosis, or when medical requirements become more complex. We also provide vital end of life care, allowing people to remain at home until death, if that is their wish.

Our services are integrated into the wider palliative care network in the local area, working with GPs, social workers, schools, community NHS teams and other professionals providing a vital link in our community’s healthcare provision.

LUAL Dedicate a Star | Tynedale Hospice at Home

Hospice care is a type of care, rather than a setting, so we don’t operate a hospice with inpatient beds. Instead our team of registered nurses and hospice support workers deliver round-the-clock care in the comfort of your own home. We firmly believe in the positive power of familiar surroundings and the support of loved ones during difficult times. So everything we do is centred around keeping people together and allowing those with life-limiting or palliative care needs to avoid prolonged hospital stays. This means providing wraparound care not just for the patient but providing support to family, friends and carers too.

Our holistic care is delivered in a variety of locations including the patient’s home, GP practices, in our Wellbeing Hub at Corbridge and local schools. It’s all completely free of charge, made possible by the incredible generosity of our community. From the funds raised through our retail operations, grants, and charitable donations, to the contribution we receive from the NHS, every penny goes towards implementing our vision to ensure local people impacted by life-limiting illness, or death, receive the support they need.

But we couldn’t do it alone. Our volunteers are at the core of everything we do.  We’re truly grateful for the support we receive from our volunteers and everyone in the wider community.
